THE WEST WIMMERA SHIRE COUNCIL has kindly offered the Edenhope Business Centre to the Society for its monthly meetings and provided a storage room for items donated to the Society.  This year they have also agreed to spend $1,000 on new display boards in the business centre for our use.

EDENHOPE COLLEGE Edenhope’s Government school for primary and secondary education. The website includes curriculum information, history of the college, special events, sport and student art.  The school has worked on projects involving historical research and record keeping.  Students will contribute items to be published on this website.

ROYAL HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF VICTORIA Formed in 1909, the RHSV is the centre of Victoria’s history movement, encompassing over 1000 individual members and acting as the peak body for the many local historical societies.


The member groups have a wide range of interests, all with a historical emphasis. These include such things as:

  • Collecting artefacts to house in Museums
  • Collecting paper records
  • Collecting photographs
  • Some are combined Historical and Genealogical Groups

PICTURE VICTORIA is a Victorian Local History Project, funded from Arts Victoria, through the Statewide Public Library Development Grants. This project aims to increase the accessibility of the local history collections held by Victorian public libraries, in particular through the development of a digitisation strategy.

VICTORIAN COLLECTIONS is an easy to use, free online cataloguing system that is available to all types of collecting organisations throughout Victoria including community museums and galleries, historical societies and keeping place, sporting clubs, church, military and other service groups. Victorian Collections has been developed for groups wanting to take that initial step from manual to digital cataloguing.  All records will be stored securely and permanently online.

PUBLIC RECORD OFFICE VICTORIA is the archives of the State Government of Victoria.  This is where records are held from the beginnings of the colonial administration of Victoria in the mid-1830s to today.
